What is Play Therapy?

 

Play therapy is means of working therapeutically with children in order to support them as they explore difficult feelings and challenges in their lives through the medium of play. Children struggling with difficult emotions find it hard to express their needs verbally;  play therapy provides  the toolkit and the safe therapeutic space in order that they can work through their difficult feelings, gain an insight and become stronger and more resilient.

 

The approach most often used by Wimbledon Play Therapy is Non-Directive Play Therapy, which is a child-centred approach based on the principles of
